Animals

Animals are the core study entities in your project. Each uploaded slice is connected to an animal record.

What to configure

For each animal, configure:

• Animal name/ID: Unique identifier used across your project
• Sex (if enabled)
• Group (if enabled)
• Condition (if enabled)

Why consistency matters

Animal names are used during upload matching. If filename conventions and animal records are inconsistent, uploads may require manual correction.

Recommendations

• Use stable IDs as animal names
• Match naming exactly to acquisition and file-export conventions
• Complete group and condition assignments before large uploads

Warning

Deleting an animal can remove linked study data (including associated slices and related records). Use deletion carefully once data upload has started.
