Stainings

Stainings define the imaging channels you expect in your study.

Why this matters

Staining names and aliases help Neuro QP recognize channels from uploaded filenames. Clear naming reduces manual correction during upload.

Configure stainings

For each staining, define:

  • Name: Main channel label used in your project
  • Aliases: Optional alternate labels that may appear in filenames
  • Color: Visual aid for interpretation and coloring of images
  • Comments: Optional internal notes

DAPI and required setup

DAPI is your default reference staining and is always present.

For a complete study setup, add at least one additional staining beyond DAPI.

Recommendations

  • Use stable, short staining names
  • Add aliases that match real filename conventions from your microscope workflow
  • Keep naming consistent across contributors

Warning

Warning: If you remove a non-default staining later, linked uploaded image assignments for that staining may be cleared and need reassignment.
