Experiment Setup
Experiment Setup controls which study attributes are tracked and available in analysis.
These settings are independent from staining roles and acquisition mode.
Sex
Enable Sex if sex-specific analysis is relevant for your study.
This adds sex as an animal metadata field and enables sex-based filtering and comparisons in downstream analysis.
If your dataset uses only one sex and you do not need this distinction, you can disable it to simplify setup.
Groups
Enable Groups for cohort structure such as control vs treatment.
Groups let you organize animals into study cohorts and compare those cohorts in Results and Statistics.
Conditions
Enable Conditions for additional experimental labels, for example dose, protocol variant, or treatment state.
Conditions depend on groups in the current workflow. If Groups is disabled, Conditions is disabled as well.
Good practice
Choose these settings before entering many animals. You can still change them later, but changes may require updating animal assignments.
