Using the statistics dashboard

Your Statistics dashboard is saved with the project and shared with your team. Each tile has its own plot settings and can contain several panels for different stainings, co-expression pairs or groups.

Load a starting dashboard

On an empty dashboard, choose Load default dashboard. NeuroQP suggests plots that fit the project's analysis setup. Atlas-space plots require a registered project; regional plots require selected brain regions.

The suggestion starts with up to four sources, prioritizing individual stainings and then compatible positive/positive co-expression pairs. Open a plot's editor to include more sources.

Check the classifiers at the top of Statistics. If data are missing or outdated, use Process statistics or Reprocess statistics on desktop and wait for processing to finish.

Add and arrange plots

On desktop, choose Edit plots to reveal the editing controls.

  • Add a plot using Add plot.
  • Move a tile using its drag handle and resize it using its resize handle.
  • Duplicate a plot to keep the original while setting up another comparison.
  • Remove plots you no longer need. Removing a plot keeps your project data.

Layout changes and plot additions, duplication and removal save as you make them. Choose Finish editing to return to viewing.

These changes affect the shared dashboard. A dashboard can contain up to 50 plots.

Configure an individual plot

In Edit plots mode, use the edit button on a tile to open its editor.

  1. Give the plot a title that describes the comparison.
  2. Choose the plot type. Bar plots support horizontal, vertical and mirrored layouts; region-free plots support Cells and Density.
  3. Choose individual stainings or compatible co-expression pairs in the staining selector. You can include several sources and set their display order.
  4. Choose the metric and grouping that answer your question.
  5. Apply the relevant brain-region, animal, group, condition and sex filters.
  6. Adjust scales, ranges, colors and the display controls available for that plot.
  7. Review the preview, then choose Save.

The editor preview changes as you adjust settings. Save updates the shared plot; Cancel lets you discard unsaved edits. If a teammate changes the same plot or its layout while you are editing, the editor asks you to resolve that change before saving.

Available metrics depend on the selected sources. Independent detection does not provide a shared all-cell denominator. See Metric semantics by workflow.

Brain-region filters apply to regional plots. Region-free plots use atlas-space cells and image coverage independently of selected brain regions.

Tile size and panel layout

Resizing a dashboard tile changes the space it occupies. In the plot editor, Layout controls the size of the panels inside it through Plot width, Plot height and Plots per row.

Use these controls to keep several staining or group panels readable. When the panels exceed the available tile space, you can scroll through them or open the plot fullscreen.

Add quick controls

Open Quick controls in the plot editor to choose the controls shown on that plot. Set their order and appearance, then save.

The available controls depend on the plot. Examples include cycling through stainings or groups, changing a metric, and moving through atlas coordinates.

The control setup and starting values are shared. Using a quick control changes only your current viewing session. These choices reset when you reload or the saved plot settings change. To make a setting part of the shared starting view, change it in the editor and save.

View fullscreen and download a figure

Use a tile's fullscreen button to open its complete plot group. Zoom and pan to inspect details; Reset zoom returns to the complete view. Use Exit fullscreen or press Escape to return to the dashboard.

Choose Export SVG on the tile, in fullscreen or in the editor to download the current plot combination. Wait for all included panels to finish loading. The download includes the displayed panels and their titles, including panels beyond the tile's visible area.

SVG keeps figures editable in vector graphics software. Quick controls affect which panels and settings are included in the download. Each download captures one tile's plot combination.

For a reproducible project-data snapshot, use the separate Export view.

Review on mobile

On a phone or tablet, the saved dashboard acts as a plot picker. Select a tile to open one plot group at a time, then use its quick controls and zoom to inspect it. Choose Back to plots to return.

Create and edit the shared dashboard on desktop.
